Tell me something, what is the difference between high self esteem and self aggrandisement? Is there a morality in being paid to do a job and turning that job into a vehicle for self promotion, rather more than the promotion of the company that is paying you? I think that if you are being paid to promote a company that is what you should do. Of course there is and always be the by product that
if you are good at your job, word will get around, you will become attractive to customers, you will become part of your own promotion. Maybe that is just me.
If you are not good at your job, at least the company that hires you will still get out there, although it may be that it won't be in as effective way as possible.
If you are good at your job, you will raise the awareness of your company - can only be good for you, you will raise the awareness of yourself - also good for you.
Why not try earning the money you are paid? If you don't, it won't last long, the company, the job, the self promotion.
